Deely Fabbri Sellen—a well-established law firm in Winnipeg—enlisted Nadi’s interior design expertise for the update and renovation of their offices. The client’s ultimate goal for this project aimed to re-establish the reception area as a formal, professional greeting space for clients. However, there were also additional issues such as the relocation of several offices and the creation of provisions for future renovations that required innovative design remedies.
For the reception area, we implemented an elegant black steel framed glass to greet clients from the eighth-floor elevators. Inside, we employed a polished white desk with a recessed alabaster stone texture, commanding attention from the back of the generously appointed waiting area that features classically styled black leather furniture with dark walnut detailing. Finally, we placed an oversized ring light fixture, bringing out the white of the desk and emphasizing the Deely Fabbri Sellen insignia on the walnut back wall. For the remainder of the office, we used classic materials such as wood and glass, with an enduring contemporary treatment, to ensure durability and longevity.
Nadi’s role in this project included providing interior design services such as implementing a space plan and creating the schematic design in phase one. As well, finalizing the design development, providing a class B cost estimate, creating and tendering the construction documents, applying for a construction permit, and performing contract administration in phase two.
